I really miss eating Rava Tosai at the Restoran opposite Anjinayar Temple in Brickfields… Their Rava tosai and the chutney are the best I have ever had… I always go there for breakfast after visiting our dear friend Anjinaya every morning… The superb Rava tosai with a Pasum paal Milo… mmm yummy….
Staying so far from Brickfields cant even imagine of having that rava tosai now… and I just cant sit craving for it… I remember someone gave me the recipe to do rava tosai… Start looking through all the bits of papers I wrote my recipes on… Hahaha… so called collection of recipes but all in pieces of paper which I wrote in rush and kept in piles… Ok found… Let’s do it… RAVA TOSAI and Chutney… anyway I have some left over sambar in the fridge… do I need chutney…
RAVA TOSAI
Ingredient
Rava Flour – 1 1/2 cup
Plain Flour – 1 cup
Rice Flour – 1/2 cup
Yogurt – 1 table spoon
Fennel – 1 teaspoon
Salt ( how much you prefer)
Curry leave… green chilli… Ginger… Carrot… Onion… (all these can be how much you like or just add what you like only)
Steps
Mix all the flour with water
Add all the other spices and ingredient
Make the batter as for doing Rava Tosai… A bit dilute… (Most of you would have seen it when they do it in restorant…)
Leave it half and hour before doing…
This makes about 20 tosai… With some damaged one too… haha…. which you can stand at the stove and eat it…
Now for the chutney… a simple coconut chutney will do…
Fry a bit of
Coconut… few Garlic… Ginger… Green chilli…Curry leave…Ulunthu…Kadege in just few drops of oil… Just to make it a bit brown… then blend together with very little water or as you like…
I tried and I came out as much as we can eat… no shape… and I didn’t give up… tried few times and now I know… some times the heat of the stove is very important also… mine is a electric stove and very diificult to control the heat… and it came out well… which means you all can do it…
I hope you all try and let me know how it came out…
Happy trying friends…
