Capati is healthy food… It is made with Atta flour, wheat product… Atta flour id a mixture of the Endosperm and bran of wheat kernel… Atta is Hindi word for dough… Atta flour is available in most Indian groceries…

I like to eat capati with sugar… Yes absolutely not healthy 🙂 I got to say it’s really yum and a good one for sweet loving people…

1. Make the normal capati dough… Atta flour… pinch of salt and water( room temperature)

2. Always leave 10 or 15 minutes before making the capati… longer is better.

3. Another very important tip is… The tava (pan) must be really hot… Capati will be soft.

4. Divide the dough equally and make few similar sized balls as per your preferred sized. Roll it on your palm with pressure till the balls are smooth and without cracks.

Steps in photos… Please scroll down…

Flat the dough to that size and apply butter or margarine or ghee

Add sugar on top of the butter. I use raw sugar and that is quite a lot I reckon. I love it sweeter.

Closed it and make a ball again with the mixture inside.

Finally using the rolling pin roll it and put on the tava. Takes a minute or two to cook.

Sugar capati is easy and quick… Don’t have to think what to do for dipping… Kids would prefer this… My son is a curry lover so I definitely can’t trick him to eat this sweet capati…

**I have to tell this… If you are making the dough for the first time and it didn’t turn out well… Trial and and error… after a few times you’ll be an expert… Speaking out of experience… 🙂

Try it… 🙂 Enjoy…
